The Event
The inaugural Meeting of the Kyoto University Tumor Immunology Group took place on July 6, 2023 as a hybrid event, combining in-person and online participation.
This study group serves as a platform to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together researchers and clinicians engaged in cancer immunology.
Moderators:
- Dr. Junzo Hamasai, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Kyoto University
- Dr. Ryoichi Saito, Department of Urology
- Dr. Ken Takahashi from CCII’s Department of Gastroenterology presented from a clinical perspective, while Dr. Kenji Chamoto from CCII provided insights from a basic research standpoint.
Presentations by CCII researchers:
- Dr. Ken Takahashi, Division of Cancer Immunotherapy, CCII, gave a presentation from a clinical perspective on “Current status of liver cancer treatment in the era of cancer immunotherapy”
- Dr. Kenji Chamoto, Department of Immunology and Genomic Medicine, CCII, gave a presentation from a basic research perspective on “Aiming at enhancing checkpoint inhibitor therapies: how can we optimize the metabolic state of CTLs?”
A total of 108 participants attended the event, engaging in lively discussions and interactive Q&A sessions. We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants for their valuable contributions and attendance.
The second session is scheduled to be held during the winter season.
