An Invitation to Support Cancer Immunotherapy Research
Cancer therapy has continually advanced, allowing many cancer patients to return to years of normal and healthy life. Yet, during 2020, cancer worldwide still accounted for over 10 million deaths, or nearly one in six deaths.
Letters from Patients
Research is a fundamental human endeavor and the sheer joy of a new discovery is a reward in itself. The letters and e-mails from patients are a reminder of the tremendous impact that fundamental research undertaken at CCII can have on individual patients.
Our Mission
Focused on integrating the various research fields related to cancer biology and immunology, CCII contributes to the conquest of cancer by deepening our understanding of the immune response against cancer in humans, and by applying the knowledge gained to new treatment strategies.
Cancer and the Immune System
Cancer immunotherapy has probably been the most profound change in the way we treat cancers since the development of chemotherapy. What makes the impact of immunotherapy so profound is its broad applicability.
Director’s Message
“We will continue research towards fulfilling our dream that most of cancers will be controlled through sophisticated yet widely available immune system interventions by 2050…
Cancer Immunotherapy Research Fund launched
Kyoto University established a new research fund to support research in cancer immunotherapy.
