Research Focus

After graduating from Hiroshima University in 2012, I started to build my career as a pediatrician at Kitano Hospital in Osaka. In the five years as a resident, I have gained a wide range of experience in the field and decided to specialize in childhood cancer. Subsequently, I got transferred to Kyoto University Hospital and learned how to treat patients with severe cancers. My academic pursuit continued at Department of Pediatrics, Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, where I uncovered an immune environment of B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children. Following my Ph.D., I have been researching cancer immunity related to leukemia and other pediatric cancers, especially regarding CD19-targeted immunotherapies.
